On July 19th, Taylor’s hilarious and loving kitty, Helix, was brutally attacked by stray dogs in our front yard—leaving him in critical condition and in need of extensive and costly surgery to save his life. He’s in stable condition for now, but has a fractured pelvis and will most likely require a rear leg amputation after he recovers.
The current total cost of procedures and 24 hour critical care is climbing close to $15,000. On top of that, the amputation surgery is estimated to cost an additional $4,000–$6,000, not including aftercare and rehabilitation.
If all goes well he can live a healthy and happy life on three legs. We are hoping for the best.
Anything you can give helps give Helix a second chance.
Thank you ♥️

A note from Taylor….
Thankfully with the help of neighbors, I was able to rush Helix to a local vet, where he received fluids and blood transfusions (he lost a lot of blood from the bite wounds). They stabilized him enough for a transfer to a 24-hour emergency facility.
He’s currently in Sacramento with specialists who are doing everything they can to nurse him back to health. The injuries are severe. Fortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any internal damage (thank god!), but they are almost certain he will need one of his hind legs amputated. Of course, I was an emotional wreck at first—it's heartbreaking to imagine this as his future—but the vets have reassured me that he’ll live a perfectly happy and normal life once he recovers. And he’ll be the cutest three-legged cat of all time. ❤️
If you know me personally, you know my cats are my whole world. Helix is the kookiest little noodle and the definition of a lap cat—so full of personality and love for everyone he comes into contact with. He’s one of the best cats I’ve ever known, and I know many of my friends and family would agree. He’s truly special.
It breaks my heart that I’m not in a position to cover all of this alone. I’m hoping my community can help, even in the smallest way, so I’m not completely overwhelmed by this. I would be so incredibly grateful and forever indebted for your support and generosity—as would my family, everyone who loves him, and most of all, my sweet baby Helix.
If you’re not in a position to donate, I completely understand. Sharing this post or simply spreading the word about this terrible accident would help tremendously.
Thank you so much for reading and for helping however you can. I love you all and am insanely grateful for your support during this incredibly difficult time.
