Support Helen's Health Recovery

My name is Debby, and I am raising funds for my friend Helen. Helen is my granddaughter Rori's mom. She is in her 30s and lives in Pueblo, Colorado. Helen has worked consistently as an adult and is currently working in food services. Two years ago, she began experiencing discomfort in her lower abdomen. Helen tried just dealing with it, as health insurance can be pretty iffy about what will be paid. It grew worse over time and recently resulted in several ER visits, when she was finally diagnosed with cysts on her ovaries and a condition called hydrosalpinx, which is the blockage of the fallopian tube. Helen is dealing with severe pain, is sometimes unable to keep food down, and just grits her teeth and powers through so she can continue to work (but no longer able to put in overtime).

Helen is raising Rori on her own, with no assistance, financial or otherwise. She has a mortgage to pay. The recommended intervention is a surgical procedure to remove her fallopian tube. Her insurance company notified her that they would only pay $10,000 towards this surgery, which leaves Helen with $25,000 to cover on her own, in addition to $8,000 in ER bills. We'd like to try and cover these fees. Otherwise, I believe Helen will just continue to try and live with this.
