Hello, my name is Barbara and I am seeking help from friends & loved ones for my lifelong friend who is battling breast cancer. In May, Helena was diagnosed with 2 different types of breast cancer. After numerous biopsies, Helena was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 3 cancer in her breast and lymph node. She just completed her 1st chemo treatment. The expected course of treatment is several months of chemo followed by surgery and radiation. She has a long road ahead of her.

I am amazed by her strength and in awe of her faith.

It is disappointing and unfortunate that despite having a good job and medical insurance, she is already facing overwhelming medical bills and this journey has only just begun. Helena survives on a single income and has spent her life devoted to her boys. They have been her why in all that she does. Anyone that knows her has seen that she has spent much of her life caring for others. Unfortunately, Helena just lost her mother last year and was still grieving as she received this diagnosis. It is now time for those close to her to take care of her in whatever way they can… offering an encouraging word, a prayer, mowing her lawn, sharing this fundraiser or donating to this GoFundMe… any little gesture is truly appreciated and will allow Helena to remain strong and focused on this battle. It takes a village to raise a child and that same village should be there to care for us as adults in need.

Those that know her, know how much she enjoys her home and yard, which as a single mom she worked so hard to maintain while her boys were growing up. Helena has never been one to ask for help but has always been the first one to step up to help others.

This GoFundMe is being set up to help her offset all of the medical bills she is already drowning in, to allow her to maintain her strength to focus on her treatment and healing rather than stressing on the daily financial survival.

For those that don’t know her, Helena is a selfless, caring, faith-driven mother. She worked 3 jobs when her boys were young to financially support them and maintain the home they grew up in. She sacrificed so much of herself so that her boys never went without. She is Momma2 to my children. She is my best friend and sister in Christ. I share all of this with you in hopes that if you are willing and able to support her in any way that you do so. We believe in the power of prayer.
