Hello, mi name is Eladio and i'm Helena's father.

Over the past several years, Helena’s journey in gymnastics has been filled with challenges, consistency, discipline, and a great deal of joy. Nothing has been easy, but through hard work and the support of our community, which has always believed in her, the goals she has set have been achieved. Today, Helena is a world champion in her category in gymnastics for athletes with Down syndrome.

In June 2026, Helena will compete in the Down Syndrome World Championships, taking place from June 13 to June 19 in Sofia, Bulgaria. This event is organized by the Sports Union for athletes with Down Syndrome (SUDS), together with BAUHAUS and the Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (FAPA) Bulgaria, and brings together athletes from different countries in a multidisciplinary world championship.

This championship will be the largest competition Helena has attended so far, the longest in duration, and unfortunately, the one that involves the highest costs.

The registration fee for this competition is 1,000 euros per person, which is approximately 1,200 US dollars.

In order for Helena to participate, we need to cover the registration for three people: Helena, her coach, and her mother, who accompanies her throughout the process. The initial amount to be covered is 3,000 euros (approximately 3,600 US dollars), and it must be paid by the end of February.

Flights have not yet been purchased, but I am doing my best to take care of that directly, as we still have some time available to manage them. The main goal of this fundraiser is to cover the registration fees, while leaving room for additional support to help with the overall costs of such a large international event.
