Help Heinz Mattmann Recover from a Scam

Our dear friend Heinz Mattmann, a beloved community alphorner and dear friend to many, recently became the victim of a devastating financial scam—something that, sadly, could happen to almost anyone. We created this GoFundMe to help Heinz recover financially during an already difficult time. He is still trying to heal from the stress and aftermath of a near-fatal heart attack, and this added financial burden has been overwhelming. Heinz has always been a caring, compassionate person who gives so much to others, and it is heartbreaking to see him taken advantage of in this way.

The scam began with a phone call from someone "claiming to be" PayPal and that they had mistakenly withdrawn money from his account and then accidentally deposited too much back. Because the transactions appeared in his bank account, the story seemed believable. He was then instructed to wire money to correct the supposed mistake. This experience has left Heinz in a difficult financial situation, and he is struggling to regain stability and peace of mind.
