The Hamilton Family surgeries & recovery ⚕️

Hi my name is Heidi,

This year has been filled with unexpected health emergencies, planned surgeries, complications, and job loss due to unexpected complications during surgery requiring longer recovery time.

It’s been a very challenging year physically, mentally, financially and emotionally. I have been out of work since July 1st due to major knee surgery plus complications during and after surgery. While in Postoperative recovery ,still under anesthesia, I aspirated , stopped breathing, code blue and the respiratory team was able to get me breathing again. Good news was this: I was alive and surgery was a success even though it didn’t go as planned. However, the aftermath turned out to be pretty serious. I woke up and they immediately did a chest X-ray and it showed pneumonia in my lung. I was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, took several strong antibiotics the next four days before they could release me because my oxygen levels were too low. I left the hospital in a wheelchair, in a full leg brace, with an oxygen tank on me 24/7. We arrived home safely and Than began the long process of recovering…it’s been 10 weeks since surgery and I am still not released to go back to work yet. Good news is I’m finally off oxygen and my levels are getting better. I am able to do more PT now that I’m healing from the complications. It’s a journey for sure…

I am reaching out for any financial assistance to help provide for my family during this difficult time (this includes food, gas, and especially medical expenses). That’s why I created this GoFundMe account in hopes to help out me and my family until I am able to return back into the work field.

I struggle reaching out for help when I’m really struggling and right now I am really financially struggling due to unplanned, unexpected and complications that I may never know why it happened. I am working on accepting what is and focused on healing and trying to find creative ways to create money or energy exchanges. I am open to any ideas, tips, thoughts…
