My husband and I found out we were expecting a baby girl in May of this year after thinking we couldn't have anymore after having our son. Our baby girl was diagnosed at her 20 week ultrasound with what is known as Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia also known as (CDH). She has a huge hole in her diaphragm that pushed her heart all the way over to the right side and allowed her liver, intestine, stomach, and kidneys to cover her left lung fully. Her left lung will take years to develop fully. Jaycie has a long road ahead of her and many more cardiologist appointments that will consist of yearly x-rays to help make sure her heart stays healthy too. Jaycie was born on May 9th, 2024 and has been a huge fighter through this process. We just keep praying daily we will bring this girl home soon, but this has made traveling between the hospital and leaving our home life hard. With the funds we raise here we need to pay medical bills and NICU bills that are stacking up already even with our insurance as our baby girl recovers in the NICU for a few more weeks.
