The ones who are always there to donate, volunteer, lend a helping hand, and give their love aimlessly are now in a time of need. The Miller family, who would give their last dollar, are facing a medical procedure which will land their family in medical bills and unpaid time off.

Heidi has been in a lot of pain for about two weeks. Sunday, she was in so much pain that Matt thought it would be wise to get checked out. They went to Genesis: Coshocton. They did a CT scan and said that she had a large cyst stretching out her right ovary. From there, she was transferred to Genesis Zanesville for an ultrasound. Genesis said she needed to follow up with her OBGYN right away as this was going to be surgical. Heidi saw her OBGYN on Monday, August 5th. Surgery was scheduled for today, August 7th, at 11 AM. She thought her OBGYN would be removing the cyst and possibly her ovary. Instead, her OBGYN found that her female reproductive organs were entwined. It was too much for her to remove or repair today. They gave her an emergency referral to Riverside for follow-up, where a total hysterectomy is recommended.

Having missed this whole week of work so far and unsure how lengthy this recovery will be, they need our help. Aside from time off for a sole provider, additional medical bills will start to roll in. Her PTO will only last a little longer, then the unpaid FMLA will follow. Her pain is indescribable and that’s coming from someone who has a high pain tolerance. She just wants to get back to life as soon as possible. It’s time we all give back to those who have always and will continue to give back to others. There is no doubt in my mind that in receiving this help from a community that they love endlessly, that in return they will give back the second they are back up and able to do so.
