I’m Hector’s neighbor and chosen family. He was my late mother’s partner and cared for her deeply in her final year as she battled lung cancer. On her deathbed, she placed our hands together and said, “Take care of each other.” And we have.

Hector has been a pillar in our community. He was always helping neighbors, doing repairs, and giving without expecting anything in return.

On July 17, Hector fell 20 feet from a ladder, breaking his thoracic spine.

Doctors say he may never walk again. His ability to work and care for himself has been drastically affected.
