Hector is more than just a welder, a carpenter, and a builder—he’s the foundation of our family. A devoted husband, a loving father and stepfather, and a rock-solid provider. He gives of himself endlessly, without ever asking for anything in return.

Just a few weeks ago, our family received devastating news: Hector has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. This disease has quietly taken root in his body for years, and only now are we beginning to understand the immense pain and fatigue he has silently carried—all while continuing to show up for others without complaint.

Right now, we are doing everything we can to fight for him—to explore every treatment, to research every option, and to hold onto hope. But as we walk through this difficult time, there are heavy realities to face. Hector will be unable to work while undergoing treatment, and my mother, his partner in every sense, will need to step away from work as well to care for him and accompany him to appointments.

Es de esas personas que iluminan cada espacio con su presencia — Es el Alma de la fiesta, el corazón más noble y el ser más generoso. Ya sea ayudando a un vecino, animando a alguien que lo necesita o simplemente estando ahí cuando nadie más lo está, Héctor siempre se hace presente para los demás.

Héctor es mucho más que un soldador, carpintero y constructor — es el pilar de nuestra familia. Un esposo devoto, un padre y padrastro amoroso, y un proveedor incansable. Entrega todo de sí sin esperar nada a cambio.

Hace apenas unas semanas, nuestra familia recibió una noticia devastadora: a Héctor le diagnosticaron cáncer en etapa 4. Esta enfermedad ha estado en su cuerpo en silencio durante años, y recién ahora comenzamos a entender el inmenso dolor y agotamiento que ha soportado calladamente — todo mientras seguía siendo fuerte para los demás, sin quejarse jamás.

En este momento estamos haciendo todo lo posible por luchar por él — explorando cada tratamiento, investigando todas las opciones, y aferrándonos a la esperanza. Pero esta batalla también viene con duras realidades. Héctor no podrá trabajar mientras reciba tratamiento, y mi mamá —su compañera en todo— también tendrá que dejar de trabajar para poder cuidarlo y acompañarlo a sus citas médicas.
