Help Heaven on Her Healing Journey ❤️

Hello, my name is Kerry Ann , and I’m reaching out with a mother’s heart full of love and hope.

On June 24, 2023, my beautiful 14-year-old daughter, Heaven, went into the hospital walking, talking, and full of life. She was scheduled for a life-saving heart transplant, and we prayed it would be the start of a healthier, brighter future.

But instead, our lives were turned upside down.

During and after the surgery, Heaven suffered a stroke and seizures, leading to devastating brain damage. She came out of the hospital in a vegetative state — unable to move or speak the way she used to. She is now wheelchair-bound, with limited memory, and her speech is severely affected. The stroke also affected the right side of her body, causing weakness and leaving her right hand disabled. Due to complications, Heaven also now wears diapers because she no longer has full control over her bladder and bowels.

Now, Heaven is wheelchair-bound, and her speech and memory have been deeply affected. Every day, she fights to find the words she wants to say. Often, she looks into the distance and just cries, unable to express what she’s feeling. When I ask her if she’s okay, she takes a long time to respond — and I’ve learned new ways to help her communicate. It breaks my heart to see her frustration, but we’re doing everything we can to support her through this.

Before this, Heaven was a joyful, active child who loved school, gymnastics, ballet, and dancing. She dreamed of becoming a cardiologist — a doctor who could save kids like her. That dream still lives inside her, and I believe with everything in me that one day, she will go back to school, go to college, and fulfill that dream.

I am a hard-working mother, and I’ve always done everything I can to provide for my family. I feel so much shame asking for help, but these times have been so hard, and I truly have no help. Since her surgery, I’ve had to stop working completely to be her full-time caregiver.

We are struggling to cover:

• Rent and daily living expenses

• Nutritious meals and basic needs

• Ongoing therapy and care to support her recovery

This is the hardest thing we’ve ever faced, but we’re not giving up. Heaven is still here. She’s still fighting. And she still has a chance to heal.
