Support Heather's Lifesaving Transplant Journey
Donation protected
Heather was born with pseudo-obstructive bowel syndrome, which affects the small intestine. There is no known cure for this. She has gone through many surgeries, complications, and procedures throughout her life, but despite the pain and hospitalizations, she has done so much in her twenty-one years. Heather graduated from Newman High School and attended North Iowa Area Community College with hopes of becoming a nurse - she understands all too well the needs of sick patients! She was a cheerleader there and is also a talented singer who has performed in many venues as well as at school. Her joyful smile lights up the room and it's hard to believe what she's gone through because she is so cheerful despite it all.
Last year her doctors decided it was time to look at a lifesaving transplant as other methods were no longer working for Heather. She was put on the transplant list, and finally got the call on Saturday, August 4th. On Sunday, she underwent a transplant at UNMC in Omaha. The recovery process will take months of hospital stay, and prayers are greatly appreciated. If you would like to help support Heather and her family during this time, please consider making a donation to help cover costs of travel, lodging, and food, as well as other costs associated with missing work. We all pray for a healthy life ahead for Heather, and more chances to hear her beautiful voice.
