Support Heather's Fight for Finn's Safety

Hi there! My name is Heather Rowland and I am the proud mother of Esme and Finn. We are raising funds to help secure legal representation as we escape an abuser, Finn's father. We have dealt with every form of abuse from this man and we are asking for support to keep ourselves safe from this dangerous person once and for all. We have adequate cause for obtaining a protection order and full custody. Your support ensures that protections are placed for Finn. Finn is a 14-year-old trans youth and his father refuses to acknowledge his identity. This is one of many forms of abuse Finn had to endure. Since September 2023, Finn has been with me full time and is now in therapy and trying sports for the first time in his life. I have witnessed great progress in his life since he's been away from his father.

The first $4k we are asking for goes directly to the attorney and once she receives the fee in full we can move forward. Her trial retaining fee is $15k which is the max I am asking for. This will very likely not go to trial. But it is very likely that I will be required to pay more than the $4k.

Anything beyond lawyers fees will go directly to supporting the family and getting me back into my nursing program by fall quarter. I am a single mother working 2 jobs right now and we are still living paycheck to paycheck. I had to drop my summer quarter so that I could pay fees. I ask for support so that I can continue my education and pay rent with ease.
