Support Heather's Emergency Brain Surgery

Donation protected
My name is Holly Brown and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my bestie, Heather Laurie, who could really use some support for herself and her daughter while having emergency brain surgery. She has a very large brain tumor.

Heather has been having ongoing health issues for quite some time that have been affecting many areas, but most noticeably in her coordination. The doctor finally did an MRI and lo and behold, there was Fred. Fred is what we are going to call Heather's brain tumor (like Drop Dead Fred), anything to help bring some humor for Heather to an incredibly scary time for her. She had already just lost her car, job, and apartment, and days later... she was given Fred.

Doctors said she needed to see a few other specialists and then they would be able to do brain surgery and then radiation for any remnants of Fred in about a month or two. But her case was reviewed a week later, sent to UW, and within 1 day she is now scheduled for emergency brain surgery with Dr. Ferreira THIS Saturday. Fred is causing Heather's pituitary glad to bend, compressing her optic nerve, and creeping into her sinuses.

Heather currently has ZERO income and was in the middle of her SSI claim when she found Fred. Her therapist had gotten her pretty far in her process due to all the health issues she was experiencing, not knowing Fred was probably causing some of it.

If you know Heather, you know she is bubbly and loves everyone. So she wants to get back to being herself soon.

Kenzie is working part-time at McDonald's but will have to take a little time off herself to help take care of her mom. Kenzie is just a kid herself, so this is a huge task for her.

She will have about a month or two of recovery.

All the money donated will go to Heather and Kenzie's basic needs like food, clothing (unfortunately during her eviction, her personal clothes bag was accidentally donated... not the donation clothes) so she has no clothes, and other needs that come up along the way. The rest will be kept in my savings account until Heather gets housing so she can get things they will need for their home.

Heather appreciates all the prayers, love, and light she has been shown today.

If you feel you have any means to help, please donate.

Thank you,
Holly
