Heather is my friend of over 10 years, and she’s always been the first to help others. She’s a dedicated teacher, a loving mom to a teenager about to graduate and a 9-year-old son with autism, and someone who never asks for help herself. Now, she’s facing a challenge that no one should have to face alone.
Recently, Heather’s ACA premium subsidies expired, and her medical insurance costs have skyrocketed. Her out-of-pocket maximum has doubled, and her monthly premiums have quadrupled. Because her chemotherapy is so expensive, she’ll need to meet her out-of-pocket max in the first week of January. On top of that, Heather had to stop teaching full time and now subs, which means she can’t earn as much as she used to. The financial strain is overwhelming, and daily living expenses are incredibly tight.
Every dollar raised will go directly to helping Heather cover her medical premiums, monthly payments, and daily living expenses. If we’re able to raise more than needed, extra funds will go toward making memories with her children, as she is terminal and only has 1-2 more lines of treatment available if her current one stops working. Heather is an amazing, caring, wonderful human. We can’t change the world on our own, but together, we can change Heather’s life in a big and meaningful way.
