Heather Smith is a devoted mother to a 15-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter. As a talented choreographer and dance instructor, Heather has inspired countless students with her passion and dedication. On November 3rd, 2025, Heather received the difficult news that she has early-stage invasive lobular carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. She is scheduled for a lumpectomy and reconstruction on December 23, 2025, and after she is healed, localized radiation and will face a challenging recovery period.

Heather does not have paid time off, and while her husband provides medical insurance, the family is still facing extensive medical bills. After her surgery, Heather will be unable to work, drive, or manage daily chores for about four weeks. Her husband will also need to take time off work to care for her and their children during this time. This means the family will be without two incomes, making it even harder to cover medical expenses and everyday living costs.
