Our family is reaching out for support for Heather Jameyson, a single mom who is facing the battle of fighting - Stage IV Hodgkin lymphoma.
After numerous scans and a biopsy, doctors confirmed that Heather's cancer began in her chest and has spread to her lungs. Last week Heather’s port was placed in her chest, chemotherapy and immune therapy will start on November 13th, and is expected to last around six months.
Because Hodgkin lymphoma is an immune-related cancer, there will be times throughout her treatment when Heather's immune system will be very weak. Her doctors have advised her not to drive the school bus during these periods to avoid exposure to germs and sickness and because they expect her to be very weak towards the second half of treatments. This has been especially hard for her, as it means missing work and income- and all while trying to stay strong for her children. Heather is the proud mom of three, two of whom are still in school — Tyson is a junior at Arca High and Madison is a freshman at Southside High School. She's always worked hard to give her family the best life she can, often putting their needs far above her own.
She has already taken multiple days off for surgeries and appointments, and with treatment ahead, she will soon have no available days as she is down to her last day of pto now. The burden and anxiety of wondering how she'll continue to provide for her kids during this time weigh heavily on her heart every day missed will effect her and the kids living.
Anyone who knows Heather knows how selfless and strong she is. Asking for help is not easy for her - but right now, she truly needs it more than ever.
All donations will go directly toward helping Heather cover her essential living expenses, meals for her family, and everyday needs while going through this. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps ease her worries for her and her kids. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing beside Heather and our family through this difficult time.
