Esta inflamación ha provocado convulsiones y nauseas constantes, agregando un nuevo capítulo a la batalla que Zobeyda enfrenta. Con el fin de aliviar su sufrimiento, ha sido necesario un procedimiento de cateterismo cerebral para drenar el líquido que estaba afectando su cerebro. Zobeyda Cepeda ha sido una incansable defensora de los derechos de las mujeres, con una destacada trayectoria en diversas organizaciones, a lo largo de su vida. Su compromiso y dedicación han dejado huella en la lucha contra la violencia de género y la promoción de la equidad en la República Dominicana y la región de América Latina y el Caribe.

Muy orgullosa siempre de ser cibaeña, pero al mismo tiempo siempre buscando trascender fronteras. Inició sus estudios en Derecho en la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, canalizando su pasión por la justicia y la igualdad a lo largo de los años, haciendo también una maestría en Género, Sociedad y Políticas Públicas en PRIGEPP-FLACSO, con mención sobresaliente.

Zobeyda ha desempeñado roles clave en organizaciones como Oxfam, donde como Oficial de Derechos de las Mujeres lideró la formulación y evaluación de proyectos, acompaño procesos de fortalecimiento de organizaciones feministas y promovió la incorporación del enfoque de género de la propia institución para la cual laboró por tantos años. Además, fue una de las Coordinadoras de la exitosa campaña "Resetéate, Acabemos con la violencia hacia las mujeres".
