Dear friends and family,
Opening myself up to receive support is a humbling experience, especially after years of holding space for others. A Course in Miracles teaches that "to give is to receive," a principle I've always embraced. Now, as I face my own healing journey, I find myself needing to accept help from those I hold dear.
Overworking myself and feeling exhausted, ironically to create a healing space for all to heal, thinking I was having intestinal issues and a bit of anxiety as I was pushing myself to complete my mission, I finally sought medical attention, surprisingly I was diagnosed with a 10cm benign tumor requiring prompt surgery. The urgency of the situation was a wake-up call to prioritize myself and my health. I've been fortunate to find exceptional care at a women's hospital here in Mexico, where the compassionate and highly skilled female doctors have made me feel truly nurtured.
As someone deeply involved in the healing arts, it's been a revelation to realize how I neglected my own well-being. I now understand more profoundly the challenges of vulnerability and the strength found in accepting support. I believe that on the other side of this experience, I'll be better equipped to serve and empathize with others facing their own struggles.
In reflecting on this journey, I'm reminded of the profound impact of saving a life. "Those who have saved one life have saved the entire world." This experience has not only been about healing my body but also about embracing the interconnectedness of our shared human experience.
