For the past two years, I’ve devoted myself fully to advocacy and activism in gender affirming healthcare. These efforts come after many more years of working directly in the field. My passion has been to ensure that transgender and gender diverse individuals have access to competent, affirming care—especially in areas where such services are scarce. It’s been my honor to stand with my community, offering care, education, and compassion in a time of growing need and increasing resistance.
However, the past two years have been extremely challenging. Facing relentless political hostility and personal stressors, my life has been deeply impacted. After much reflection, I need some additional support to continue my work- the support will go towards paying for the added costs of continuing work in these circumstances- legal consult fees, training and education costs from experts in navigating the criminalization of healthcare, folx supporting the health of our team. This financial support allows me to continue the fight for equitable, gender affirming healthcare and face the upcoming political and systemic challenges with renewed strength.
I’ve explored ways to make this support financially accessible, including searching for a pro bono and free services, but we need additional consultations. That’s where I need your support.
