Support Shea’s Healing and Stability

The time has come for me to ask for mutual aid to support me through huge mental health challenges while being a small business owner who doesn’t have benefits like short term disability. For the last few months, I have been navigating frequent flashbacks as parts of my PTSD and C-PTSD. This, coupled with ADHD and being extremely sensitive to medication, has meant a lot of huge disruptions to my ability to function well enough to rely on my own capability to ensure financial stability. Needing extra therapy and navigating finding the right supports has also taken much of my time.

None of the disruptions are predictable and because I need far more time and space to navigate the disruptions, it makes working with clients by appointment really tricky - and that isn’t fair to any of us. Compounding that, I want to be able to show up for my family instead of stressing financially. BUT! On the good days, I’m really great and capable at my job. With birth support, I am meeting my extra need for time/space by working in a collective. But with body work, I am struggling and that is where the majority of my income is from.

My big ask here is to have the time and space to do what I need to do for my health and thriving, while also piloting a new business model that can meet both my needs and my client needs, all without the stress of worrying about finances or needing more loans that just prolong financial anxiety. I set my goal to meet my bare minimums for 4 months. I am so grateful for the support I’ve received already from family, friends, and clients. Please donate if you can and share if you can.
