Support Healing After Life-Altering Surgery
Donation protected
On 7/25/24, after becoming extremely sick with swelling and pain in my left hand from simply picking a small scab, I went to the emergency room. As my mental status declined and I started acting out of character, I was sedated and sent to a level one trauma hospital for further tests. I was septic and in a medically induced coma for four days, with uncertainty of me surviving. I was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, a flesh-eating bacteria that kills 1 in 3 people who contract it. After two surgeries attempting to save my left hand, it wasn't savable and a third surgery was done to amputate my left hand and wrist. After two and a half weeks, I was released from the hospital only to go back two days later to get a fourth surgery to remove more of my arm.
I'm currently unable to work and I'm attempting to raise money for a clean place to heal. This happened very suddenly and has turned my life down a path I never could have imagined traveling down. Anything helps and is received with absolute gratitude!
