Support headteacher Mike in his legal fight

Hi my name is Amanda , I am organising this fundraiser to help our amazing head teacher Mike Fairclough at West Rise Junior school in East Sussex. The funds raised will be used to help financially support Mike and his family during a time of unemployment where Mike has unfortunately been forced to resign through no fault of his own pending a hearing scheduled later next year. Mike feels he has been discriminated against , harassed and bullied for exercising his right to lawful free speech (in his own time not school time) & for expressing his philosophical belief in the importance of critical thinking, free speech & safeguarding children.

Anybody who knows Mike as West Rises headteacher knows how amazing it’s been to have him be in charge of our children’s education, he’s given so many opportunities to pupils , engaging and encouraging with his “hands on” approach to learning, leading the way with forest school activities. The school will certainly feel his absence . I’m asking if you can donate even if just a little to show your support , gratitude and thanks to Mike for his 19 years at West Rise and to also show that even if our views as individuals aren’t the same as one another that we still all have the right to express them and should be free to do so without implications. Mikes court case is so much more than the topic it’s surrounding it’s about our children being able to grow up in a world where they are encouraged to think for themselves & express their thoughts views and opinions without persecution.
