I am raising funds for families in North Minneapolis are facing an incredibly difficult and scary time. As an educator in North Minneapolis, I am seeing the impact from the increase of ICE activity and immigration raids in our city. The presence of ICE in our community has created fear and uncertainty for many of our neighbors, friends and family. In some households, the main breadwinner has been detained. Other households, parents are too afraid to leave their homes to go to work.
Many families are at risk of loosing their housing to eviction. The stress and anxiety are overwhelming and we want to work together to provide relief and support.
All funds will go directly to families of students who attend my school, Headstart. If we have additional funds after meeting the needs of Headstart families, we will support other families in our community directly impacted by ICE.The funds will go towards covering rent, bills and utilities. Your support no matter the amount will make a huge difference!
Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with your networks. Thank you for supporting our community.
I am a teacher and neighbor in North Minneapolis working directly with families from my school community, HeadStart Fraser, and the surrounding neighborhood who have been impacted by ICE enforcement. I will oversee the withdrawal and distribution of funds, which will first be transferred to my bank account and then distributed directly to families in need. Funds will be used to help cover rent, prioritizing families facing eviction notices, and distributed via cash, check, or electronic transfer. There is an urgent need to provide support as quickly as possible to help families avoid late fees and maintain stable housing.
