Support Hazel and Seth's Recovery After a Dog Attack
Donation protected
Hazel, a sweet and gentle three-year-old dog, was tragically attacked by two unleashed pit bulls while out on a walk with one of her owners. During the unprovoked attack, one of the dogs bit Hazel’s back right leg before both began mauling her stomach. She was rushed to the animal hospital, where she underwent a critical three-hour surgery to repair the damage. Hazel suffered multiple torn muscles, required a surgical drain, and received over 50 stitches. Known for her shy nature, Hazel slowly warms up to new friends—with a few sniffs and a treat or two, she’ll happily claim you as her best buddy. Her love is unmistakable: when excited, she gently nibbles on your nose and ears, and her tail wags so fiercely it turns into a little fan. Now, Hazel is in urgent need of support during her long road to recovery. Her family is reaching out to the community to help cover the extensive medical bills and give this lovable girl the healing and comfort she deserves.
During the terrifying attack on Hazel, one of her devoted owners, Seth, was also seriously injured while trying to protect her. As the two unleashed pit bulls lunged, Seth immediately knelt down to shield Hazel with his own body. During the attack, Seth was bitten multiple times in the face, including his nose and mouth, leaving him with deep puncture wounds that required ambulance transportation to the emergency room, where he received 25 stitches. Despite his own injuries, Seth continued to fight off the dogs, refusing to leave Hazel's side. It ultimately took three grown men to pull one of the pit bulls off Hazel’s stomach. Once the dogs were finally separated, Seth, bloodied and shaken, called the police to report the violent incident. His bravery and love for Hazel in that harrowing moment likely saved her life.
