Support Hayward Duresseau’s Recovery After His Life-Saving Kidney Transplant

Earlier this week, our dear friend and colleague Hayward Duresseau underwent a life-saving kidney transplant after a critical battle with kidney failure. He is so grateful to have received this life-saving gift!

The surgery was successful, but the recovery journey ahead will be long and demanding. Hayward now faces an unexpected financial burden because his medical leave for the next three months is completely unpaid due to the absence of short-term disability coverage.

Hayward is no stranger to adversity. He was once paralyzed from the hips down, completely deaf, and blind for a time due to meningitis. Despite these life-altering challenges, he learned to walk again, became fluent in sign language within three months, and even went on to earn a college degree. He pushed forward to pursue his professional career in cybersecurity, became an advocate for others with disabilities, and took pride in mentoring and uplifting those around him.

Even in times of illness, Hayward continues to show unwavering commitment to his work, his education, and his community. He has worked tirelessly to advance in his field while serving on professional boards like ISACA, contributing to cybersecurity education, and inspiring others through his story of resilience and perseverance.
