Beloved educator, musician, and community builder Mickelle “Hayón” Hellon has been diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He and his family need our help with medical expenses, travel, and sustaining their youth-empowerment work while he undergoes treatment in Oakland.
For more than a decade, Mickelle “Hayón” Hellon and his wife Anjelyca Hellon have poured their hearts into building EDUtainment Pros, a Sacramento-based creative education nonprofit that empowers youth through music, media, and storytelling.
Together, they’ve taught hundreds of students from under-resourced schools how to find their voices, tell their stories, and build careers in the creative arts. Their work has touched classrooms across Sacramento, Elk Grove, San Juan, and San Francisco — giving young people purpose, mentorship, and hope.
Recently, Hayón was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer. He has begun treatment in Oakland, requiring ongoing travel, specialized care, and months of recovery. While he focuses on healing, Anjel is juggling family responsibilities, their children’s needs, and the operational weight of EDUtainment Pros — the organization they built together.
This fundraiser will help cover:
• Medical costs for Hayón’s treatment and recovery
• Travel and lodging between Oakland and Elk Grove for Anjel and the kids
• Meals, childcare, and household expenses while the family navigates this difficult chapter
• Operational support to keep EDUtainment Pros’ youth programs running during Hayón’s absence
Every dollar helps this family breathe a little easier — and ensures that the creative lifeline they’ve built for Sacramento’s young artists continues to thrive.
If Hayón or Anjel has ever touched your life through teaching, music, mentorship, or friendship, please consider giving what you can and sharing this campaign widely.
Thank you for standing with them in solidarity, love, and community.
