Support Hayley's Brain Tumor Battle

Hi, my name is Hayley Deffenbaugh, and I’m a 24-year-old woman living in Austin, TX. I work as a Clinical Administrator Assistant at Action Behavior Center, a company dedicated to providing therapy for children with autism. I’ve always had a passion for helping others, and being a part of something so meaningful brings me great joy.

Recently, I made the decision to move back to Dallas to be closer to my loved ones. As much as I love helping others, being around family and friends is so important to me, especially during times of uncertainty.

Last Sunday, I experienced a seizure while outside in a parking lot, and it was then that I was rushed to St. David’s South Austin Hospital. While under their care, I experienced another seizure. After undergoing an MRI, the doctors informed me that they had found a mass on my brain, which they believe to be a tumor. It is located near the part of my brain that controls my speech, and I will need to undergo another MRI so the doctors can study its patterns more closely. From there, they will determine the safest course of action, which will involve removing the mass and testing it for cancer.

This journey has been unexpected and overwhelming, but I’ve always believed in the strength of community. I’m reaching out now because, unfortunately, I don’t have the financial means to fully cover the costs of treatment, therapy, and recovery.
