Hello! My name is Haydn Bordelon and I am a junior at Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island. Portsmouth Abbey is a Benedictine boarding school which provides us, not only rigorous academics, but guidance in the Faith. The school offers an annual pilgrimage in July to Lourdes. I was blessed to experience this trip last year in which I spent 10 days working with the Ampleforth Pilgrimage to guide and work with the needy. Ampleforth Abbey is a Benedictine school and monastery located in York, England. Ampleforth cooridnates the yearly pilgrimage, bringing both volunteers and the assisted pilgrims to join. I met tons of people, learned their stories, and formed relationships. I also fell in love with the city and the Catholic tradition behind it. It has provided me the opportunity to see life and God in ways like never before.

This year, I have been given the chance to go back to Lourdes with the program to provide deeper service in my faith for these people. Because I am now older, I will be taking on more responsiblites for the assisted pilgrims with the chance to deepen my relationship with God through these people.
