Hi everyone!
My name is Galilea, and every year, my employer hosts a "Day of Caring" in which it encourages its employees to make charitable donations and partake in kind gestures to give back to a community in need. Inspired by this initiative, the goal of this fundraiser is to aid the state of Hawai'i in its current recovery following Kona low storm flooding, which has caused destruction and loss across the islands.
All donations made to this fundraiser will be donated to The Stronger Hawai‘i Fund, organized by the Hawai'i Community Foundation.
"The Stronger Hawai‘i Fund is a dedicated fund designed to support statewide disaster and emergency related preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, and resilience. HCF deploys resources to where the need is greatest; whether it’s Hawai‘i Island, Maui Nui, O‘ahu, or Kaua‘i, no corner of our state is out of reach."
Keep in mind that the flood aftermath has had various consequences on locals, including loss of homes, vehicles, and pets, lack of basic necessities, contaminated water, destroyed agriculture leading to food shortages, and affected tourism, impacting state budgets and jobs/income.
Thank you to those who can join me in donating and/or sharing this GoFundMe - all your support is appreciated!
