Dear Friends & Family,

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden and tragic passing of Hashini Herath, who lost her life in a fatal car accident yesterday. Hashini was a kind and vibrant young woman who had only recently begun building a new life in the United States with her husband, after moving from Sri Lanka just nine months ago. Her unexpected passing has left her husband devastated, now facing this unimaginable loss far from his immediate family and support.

The family’s most urgent wish is to bring Hashini home to Sri Lanka, where she can be laid to rest surrounded by her loved ones. The costs associated with repatriation, funeral arrangements, and immediate support are significant and unforeseen. Through the Sri Lanka America Association of Rochester, New York (SLAARNY), we are humbly asking for your support during this incredibly difficult time. All contributions will go directly toward transporting Hashini back to Sri Lanka, covering funeral expenses, and assisting her husband as he navigates the days ahead.
