Support Hasan Ayoush and his family in Gaza

Hi all,

My name is Elin Hofman, living in the Netherlands and working with an International NGO in the field of psychosocial support. Together with Mohammed Saqer I am organizing this fundraiser to support Hasan and his family in Gaza. Hasan Ayoush is a colleague of mine and before the war started he was living in the Gaza Strip, in Gaza City, in the neighbourhood Al-Zaytoun together with his wife Asma Ayoush and their 4-year old son Rakan Ayoush. He was working for PCDCR as a Case Manager connecting children who need help with the service provider they need at all levels.

Hasan's family:

Hasan reached out to me in December 2023 and explained how they were doing. Due to the conflict he had to move a couple of times to find a safe place to stay. These months have been very difficult for them, due to the poor humanitarian situation. He asked a few months later whether it would be possible to set up a fundraiser to help rebuilding his house that was destroyed by the war. He had been working to build this house for years and it was finished just a few days before the war started. The pictures will give you a glimpse of what it looked like when it was finished and the destruction after the bombing. ‘The bombing is still everywhere, we suffer a lot of severe psychological pressures and psychological stress. We look at this as an opportunity to survive and live with dignity and safety’.

Hasan: ‘These photos show the amount of damage, heartbreak and loss we suffered as innocent civilians, and we have done nothing wrong with everything that happened and is happening, and this money to be collected will restore the family's right to housing, as well as create hope for a return to the beautiful life we lived after destroying everything we have worked hard for for 13 years. This money will bring the soul back to our bodies after we have lost passion and live happily. These pictures will help that the donation money to be raised will really change the reality and transform the pictures of the destroyed house and bring it back to what a beautiful and habitable house was.’

As the situation keeps on deteriorating, the family decided they need to leave Gaza. Mohammed is a relative of the family and lives in Austria. As his family and friends, he likes to help others and is friendly. Mohammed will help Hasan and his family to receive the money and will pay the required amount to Hala's company. This company is coordinating the transit of individuals from the Rafah crossing to Egypt. Hasan: ‘Mohammed will himself follow up our move to Egypt, rent a house for us and arrange all living needs. There is a friend of Mohammed in Cairo, his name is Khaled, who will help issue a temporary residence, and this is possible. An amount will also be allocated to live there until the war ends. I also did not neglect to look for a job opportunity in Egypt.’

Please help Hasan, his wife and their son to leave Gaza until the war ends as well as to support them in rebuilding their house once the war is over. The donated funds will be used to:

• Cover the cost of relocating Hasan, his wife and son from Gaza to a safe outside Gaza. This will cost about $15.000

• Provide transportation to Cairo, which will cost $500

• Provide temporary housing in Cairo, which will cost $1000.

• Meet our basic needs (clothes, shoes, food etc.) until the family can earn income again, which will cost about $2.000.

• Funding to fix and repair their home in Gaza when they can return, which will cost about $23.000

• The GoFundMe fees: (2.9% plus an additional $0.30 per donation) and bank transfer fee: 5% of donations, which we estimate around $1.500
