We are raising funds to support Harvie Arafiles, a sophomore at AC Jones High School, who is currently fighting a serious medical condition.
On January 10 at around 3:30 p.m., while volunteering at Moreno Junior High School through Barnhart, Harvie suddenly collapsed and became unconscious. Emergency responders were called immediately, and she was first taken to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Beeville. Due to the severity of her condition, she was airlifted by emergency helicopter to Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Harvie was diagnosed with a brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Doctors have determined that she will need to undergo three surgeries as part of her treatment and recovery.
Harvie’s mother, Ms. Joy Arafiles, is a teacher at AC Jones High School and is the only family member with her at this time. Harvie’s father and siblings are currently in the Philippines, making this journey even more difficult for the family. Ms. Arafiles is facing not only the emotional toll of her daughter’s condition but also overwhelming medical and hospitalization expenses.
We are asking for your support during this incredibly challenging time. Any donation—big or small—will go directly toward helping cover medical bills, hospital expenses, and related costs. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Harvie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support for Harvie and the Arafiles family.
