Our family is facing something we never expected. Our Dad, (Pap and Papi), Harvey Pelfrey, has spent nearly 35 years serving his community in law enforcement in one capacity or another. He has always been strong, healthy, and the one everyone could rely on. But very suddenly, he began experiencing unusual symptoms, and after a visit to the ER, our world changed. He was diagnosed with small cell lung and liver cancer.

Our mom and nana, Donna Pelfrey, is a dedicated school teacher. We want nothing more than for her to have the ability to be by his side through treatment and recovery, but she has very limited paid leave, only a couple of weeks that must somehow carry her through the end of the school year in May. We’re hoping to raise enough funds so she can take the time she needs to care for him at home once he’s released from the hospital.

Harvey is not just a husband and father, he is an incredible grandfather. He is deeply involved in his grandkids’ lives, and they adore him. This situation has been devastating for our whole family, but especially for our mom and the grandchildren who can’t imagine life without their Pap being active and present like he always has been.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Uncovered medications

• Travel expenses for trips to receive chemo and other therapies

• Household and care-related costs so our mother can stay home and care for him through this fight

Harvey has spent his life taking care of others, his family, his community, and anyone who needed him. Now we’re humbly asking for help taking care of him.
