From a friend on my behalf:
"To All Island (and beyond) Devotees of Homeless, Lost, or Injured Dogs, Great Bands and their Music, Community Members in Need, and Recovery Community Efforts,
Time to step up for one of our own.
For the last few decades, Caroline Derrig:
- has fostered roughly 100 dogs in her home for Angels Helping Animals,
has been the first person to go out into the night in any weather to search for a lost dog,
- has supported Island Bands, great music, and the community of musicians who inspire this Island across all seasons,
- has stepped up for countless benefits, Go Fund Me campaigns and charity auctions to help community members with medical bills and other challenges,
- has been the first to greet us all with welcoming energy and spirit,
- has stepped up both publicly and privately for countless individuals, groups, and organizations in myriad ways.
Now, due to an accident that happened when an unleashed dog rushed at Caroline while she was walking her two (double )leashed dogs at Tisbury Meadows, Caroline needs our help to save yet another dog: her own.
Caroline’s five-year old, rescue dog, Haruki, fell during the incident, (as did Caroline, who has bruised ribs).
Due to the fall, Haruki needs very expensive ACL surgery and she needs it now.
If every one of us steps up and gives a modest gift on Caroline’s behalf, I know we can get this done, MV-style, in about 24-72 hours. Straight Up, Y’all.
Please join us in doing the right thing for a key stakeholder in our collective community.
Please give what you can, as swiftly as you can, and let’s show Caroline what it feels like to be supported in the same way that she has supported all of us.
Thank you

Dictionary Definition of a Therapy Dog :
This One = My dear friend Haruki (Ru, RuRu, HAaAARuUuUuuuuuu!!!!!;)
.... She is a person Wrapped In Fur, a DogTastic, a Her0!!uuuuuu !!!
... This lovable animal is ... all smiles all the time, has compassion way beyond her years and is wicked soulful - has that in spades ... all day, every day. To put it succinctly ~
She is the face of our dog rescue. Our Nameplate. The GOAT (rescue;)
HARUKI is our official - but yet somehow informal - Intake Coordinator, Mama Bear, Nurse Extraordinaire, the BEYOND ULTIMATE DOGGO - OUR BELOVED Camp Counselor, THE "AFTER" MUG SHOT OF A "BEFORE" RESCUE animal - perhaps THE QUINTESSENTIAL "BEFORE AND AFTER " 'AFTER' PUPSTER ... She is paying that sh**t forward every day. Every day since the day we got her ;)
YOU KNOW, ... the Cool Aunt ~ A Survivor. NOT a Victim. A Real Survivor ~ She waited for the right people to help her; I am lucky to have become one of them. Thank you .
HARUKI ?
She is - as her Hero/Ultimate Wrangler Jaclyn Falor said:
"Pure Perfection " .
Ha ha ha ! Thanks, Jaclyn - No Worries - Haruki is living her best life. Here on Martha's Vineyard. Beach every day. Now she is hurt, but survivin' - she right now currently trying to continue to do the same for others -- as always .... dogs and people alike. As in, .... helping others do the same work she had received from us.
Dogs and Dog Owners alike !!!
Thanks to everyone who helped placed her at our feet. We're lucky. That being said, we need some help. If you can, friends. Thank you.
.... Thanks again to Fred Bellows, Leslie Hurd, Lynn Shepardson, Cheryl DeWitt, Nicholas Catt, PA Bill Smith. And Forever - Jaclyn Falor - Topmost !!!! Thank You !!!!
This animal has helped introduce hundreds of other rescue pups to Boston, The Cape, Falmouth and The Islands, and has welcomed them all with open arms, and quickly snuggled them into safety. I personally KNOW at least a hundred people who have received the Gifts of Haru's Help - you now Have the Puppies, Dogs, Family Members, because of this One Animal. HARUKI !!!! .... Remember .... COVID ??!?!??!?!?!?? y'all?
So, I am asking You to please Help my dog /dog-friend Haruki now in her time of need. Please. And Thank you !!!
.... So she can continue to Do her good work. For us, the Island, and a lotta other wonderful pups. Thank You.
Very Truly,
Robert Berosh
