Hey everyone, I’m reaching out because I never thought I’d be in this position, but here I am.
I came to the U.S. from overseas to chase my dreams, to study, to build a life from nothing. I left behind everything familiar and started from scratch in a country where I knew no one, working multiple jobs, and facing all the challenges life throws at international students. It’s been tough, but soccer has always been my anchor. Whether I’m having the worst day or celebrating a small win, stepping onto that field reminds me why I’m here and what I’m fighting for.
A few days ago, everything changed in an instant. What started as a bad fall turned into a nightmare, a completely broken finger that landed me in the ER. The doctors are saying I need surgery, and the medical bills are piling up faster than I can process. Between hospital visits, medications, and the surgery itself, I’m looking at thousands of dollars I simply don’t have. As an international student on OPT, I’m barely scraping by as it is, and this unexpected emergency has completely blindsided me financially.
I hate asking for help. But right now, I can’t do this alone. Every dollar, every share, every bit of support gets me one step closer to getting the treatment I need and eventually getting back to doing what I love: playing soccer with the people who’ve become my family here.
If you can spare anything, even just $5 or a share of this campaign, it would mean the world to me. I promise when I’m back on my feet, I’ll pay this kindness forward. Thank you for being part of my journey.
With gratitude,
Harsha
