Support Harry Torres' Family in Their Time of Need

My name is Miguel Alvarez and I am raising money for my best friends Harry Torres a beloved brother and friend. I'm afraid his sudden passing caught all of us by surprise. We are deeply saddened to share this news in hopes of some support.

Harry Torres was a devoted Metropolitan Transportation Authority conductor for the New York City Subway system who fought bravely against emphysema. Harry was not just a colleague; he was a friend, a mentor and a beloved member of his social community. His dedication to his work friends and family was evident in everything he did. His laughter contagious and brought joy to many. As we mourn his loss, we aim to honor his memory by supporting his family during this difficult time.

*A little bit about Harry.*

Harry was born to a modest family in San Juan Puerto Rico and grew up with 3 sisters. Right after High School, Harry knew he had a knack for helping the public so he worked hard to find jobs in the customer service field and quickly found work at Avis Rent a Car and later the Metropolitan Transportation Authority as a conductor, in which he spent the later part of a decade. He also was a vocal union member in the Local Metropolitan Transportation Union. His commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient travel of countless commuters was unmatched. Known for his kindness, professionalism, and unwavering support for his coworkers, Harry was a pillar of strength within the workplace. Tragically, his battle ended his life short at the young age of 56.

*The Need*

Harry leaves behind a loving family, His sisters, mother and father and friends who are all heartbroken by his untimely passing. The emotional and financial burden of losing a loved one is overwhelming, especially when that loved one was the primary provider. We are raising funds to assist his family with funeral expenses, medical bills and to provide some financial relief during this challenging period.

We are so touched by your donations. that I've decided to give back. I promise to paint a 2x2 painting for everyone who donates including the ones that have already humbly donated. I am so moved by your contributions. I never really thought it would affect you in the manner that it has. By nature I am moved to always gracefully thank those who me and others in their fight for life. The painting is worth it for my pieces of art run in the thousands. Not to brag but I had to let you know how serious I was to bury my friend. Their is so much confusion, hurt and pain that came with this death and all that matters to me, that he gets buried. He's my bestie, confidant, brother, friend, pain in the ass but our it was worth all the pain. I hope the painting brings you solace and joy at the same time. It'll be my pleasure.

It is with great sadness to know we are finally ready to let Harry go to where he needs to get to and I pray to God he find his way. You will be surely missed "Tiershka!"

It is on behalf of the family at this time to remove the gofundme page as the fund has reached its goal to cremate the body as it is the family and Harry wish to do so. May he rest in peace.

We have collectively raised 1,175 dollars thanks to your grace. The funds will be used to cremate the body. There will not be an open casket or viewing for that matter. The ashes will be shipped to Florida and distributed to a family member who is eager to receive them. Then the ashes will be scattered in the Atlantic ocean as wished by Harry.

The family will leave one of the pages open as there still is a need.
