Hi, my name is Harry Chiao. I’m a Taiwanese director currently studying at the American Film Institute Conservatory—one of the top film schools in the United States. I am now in my second year at AFI, with just one year left before completing my MFA. It has been a true honor to study here and pursue my passion for filmmaking.
But my family is currently facing a serious financial crisis. My father was recently laid off, and with four children still in school, my family can no longer support my tuition and living expenses in the U.S. I am working as hard as I can to stay in school, but at this moment, I truly need help to finish my degree.
I have never been someone who speaks loudly about myself—film has always been my voice. It is how I connect with people and how I hope to contribute to the world. I love cinema more than anything, and I want to keep telling stories that matter.
If you would like to support me in completing my education, any amount, no matter how small, makes a real difference. And if you are unable to donate, simply sharing my story would also mean a lot.
Thank you so much for your time, generosity, and kindness. I am truly grateful.
