Updates posted below

Hi! And thank you for reading Harrison’s story. so yesterday (4/27/24) our beloved cat Harrison, started acting strange and crying in pain, after several trips to the litter box leaving nothing behind we took him to ISU emergency clinic in Ames. They determined he had a urinary blockage.
He was given anesthesia & cleared the blockage using catheter & sent home. 2 stones came out. Just this procedure emptied our bank accounts.
They sent us home with Harrison at midnight last night, it’s now 8pm the following day and he hasn’t been able to pass anything & is in pain again & becoming very lethargic.
However with only $23 left to my name I’m unable to get him treatment. This has been very taxing on us, & I don’t know what else to do to keep our family together.
The internet suggested I try this website. So please even if you can only spare a few dollars it will add up and we can get him treatment ASAP. Even sharing our gofundme could be more beneficial than you know!

We thank you very much in advance

update 4/29/24 I was able to find someone very nice to apply for ScratchPay & she was approved. So I was Able to take Harrison to The Hometown Veterinarian & get him in the care of Dr. Jacobson. He is being held for at least 3 days on a catheter and monitored his kidneys as they took a beating due to lack of passing urine. Being as our bill be quite alot, I will leave this gofundme active, which funds will be used to cover anything more than $1,000 and to pay back the person who allowed us to use their credit with ScratchPay.

2nd UPDATE:
Harrison ended up immediately blocking after 3 days of the catheter upon removal due to inflammation. The solution to this problem is a surgery called perineal urethrostomy.
which the surgery went very well, after 5 days with the Vet Harrison is back home & back to his Normal self!!

This gofundme is still absolutely relevant. After everything this ended up costing $3,450. Not counting what we spent at the emergency hospital.

If you wish to donate, but would rather donate straight to the vet, feel free to call The Hometown Veterinarian in marshalltown and apply a payment to Harrison’s bill.

Some might say it’s just a cat. No, He is not just a Cat. He is a Family member, & he needs our help. So I will put all efforts into this for him!
Thank you to everyone who has helped Financially, morally, & given advice to us.
