Support Harmony's Journey to University

Hi everyone, my name is Harmony. I’m a senior in high school, and I’ve recently been accepted and committed to the University of Alabama — a dream that has felt out of reach for most of my life.
I’m creating this GoFundMe because, despite how hard I’ve worked and how much this opportunity means to me, my family simply cannot afford the cost of college. I’ll be the first in my family to attend, and getting accepted was a huge milestone — not just for me, but for everyone who’s supported me.
A little about my story: When I was a toddler, I was taken from my mom by someone she trusted. I spent years being raised by that woman, but it was a painful experience. She was emotionally and verbally abusive, and it left lasting effects on my mental health that I still work through today. She had set aside money for my college education, but after I finally had the courage to speak up and was placed back with my mom, that money was gone.
Now, I live with my mother again. She has multiple sclerosis and survives on just $900 a month from disability. Despite everything, we’ve built a healthier, more loving life together. I work a part-time job that pays $13.75/hour and contribute as much as I can, but it’s not enough to cover the nearly $53,000 yearly cost of attending Alabama. So far, FAFSA has only covered a small portion, and I’m still waiting to hear back from a scholarship appeal.
I plan to major in Kinesiology and minor in Psychology, with the goal of becoming a Sports Medicine Physician. I know I have what it takes — the drive, the resilience, the academic strength — but I need help getting through the financial barrier.
Any donation, no matter how small, or even just sharing this, would mean the world. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
UPDATE: So unfortunately today, I had a phone call with my academic advisor. I am unable to attend Alabama this upcoming 25-26 school year because my family and I cannot afford it. However, I am still going to be using this money for tuition to transfer to them next school year 26-27. Thank you.
