Harley has been part of our family for nine years. She was abandoned and ultimately left in the care of me and my wife by my mother, and from that moment on, she became our dog in every sense of the word. She is goofy, playful, cuddly, stubborn, loving, and truly irreplaceable in our lives.
She has been there through some of the darkest and hardest moments we have ever faced. In July of 2025, shortly after my little brother Jacob Lee passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident, Harley began developing a mass that has continued to grow over time. In the middle of grieving such a devastating loss, watching another member of our family begin suffering has been heartbreaking in ways I cannot fully explain.
We sought veterinary care, and the veterinarian advised that the mass needs to be removed as soon as possible and that Harley also needs to be spayed during the procedure to help reduce the risk of future complications and masses.
We initially reached out to my mother for help because of Harley’s history and because we were trying to do everything possible to save her. Unfortunately, we could not come to an agreement. Due to deeply personal issues and the current state of our relationship, I asked that she not be present at the veterinary clinic where I work. After that boundary was set, she refused to help further.
Despite everything surrounding this situation, our focus is Harley. She is family. She is not “just a dog” to us. She is the one following us from room to room every day, curling up beside us when we cry, dancing around for a piece of chicken, and bringing light into our lives even during the hardest times.
Any donations will go directly toward Harley’s veterinary care, and we would be more than happy to provide receipts and documentation for all expenses afterward.
The current estimated cost for Harley’s mass removal and spay procedure is $1,159.53. However, we were advised that if the veterinarians discover pyometra during surgery, the procedure would become significantly more extensive and urgent, increasing the estimated total cost to approximately $4,637.40.
Because I work at the veterinary clinic where Harley’s procedure would be performed, I will be receiving an employee discount to help reduce some of the cost. However, even with that discount, the expenses are still far more than we can realistically manage on our own right now.
Every donation, share, kind word, and prayer means more to us than we can fully express. After losing my little brother, the thought of losing Harley too is something that honestly breaks my heart. We are doing everything we can to give her the care, comfort, and quality of life she deserves for as long as possible.
Thank you for helping us fight for our girl.

Please do not send donations to my mother. At this time, we are trying to ensure that any funds meant for Harley go directly toward her veterinary care and treatment.
