Hi, my mom's dog Harley just went through a devastating scare. My mom came home from the hospital after splitting her time between hospitals. My daughter having kidney problems and my brother having massive heart attack. She came home to find Harley on the floor struggling to breath. He was rushed to our local emergency vet in Bridgewater where they provided oxygen and took X-rays. Something was obstructing his airway. My mother then had to take him on oxygen to another emergency vet VCA in Weymouth. Being told he might not make it on the way. He did he's a fighter. They arrived at South shore emergency vet in bad shape. He was intubated and stayed overnight until the specialist arrived in the morning. He underwent a scope which found his trachea has collapsed. He was then medically transported to a specialized emergency vet in Tufts small animal hospital in Grafton. They performed a life saving surgery he only had a 33 percent chance to survive. Harley survived. He is recovering but it is still a lengthy process with ongoing medical bills. Between the 3 hospitals the bill is up to $12,000 dollars and rising with each appointment. My mom got Harley when my dad was dieing. My dad a Vietnam veteran 101st airborne who loves Harley Davidsons named him Harley because his grumbles sounded like a motorcycle. Harley made it. My mother would not have had she lost him. My mom is on a fixed income. She a worked her whole life and has always helped everyone and now it is my turn to help her. I am currently waiting on a total knee replacement and out of work from the post office until I'm healed. I have a hard time asking for help But if I can try to raise money for her and Harley then I must try. Something as simple as $1 each person or what ever someone could spare could help us reach the goal of what it has cost so far. A steep price tag but one worth it for an angel on earth.
