Friends, family, and loved ones,
I am reaching out to you all on behalf of one of my dearest friends, Harley Davies, who needs our help. Harley is a brilliant woman and a dedicated leader. She is cherished by all who know her. She has an infectious smile and an open heart, and she always knows how to make you laugh, even in the face of tremendous adversity.
For those who don’t already know, our sweet Harley was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 23rd of this year. She is 33 years old. Because the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes, she is scheduled to undergo a double mastectomy on July 18th, 2024 followed by four months of chemotherapy.
Her prognosis is positive, and we are all confident that she will make a full recovery. However, we are in America, and while modern medicine works miracles- it is astronomically expensive in this country. Harley does have insurance, which will serve to take some of the pressure off financially, but we all know that insurance doesn’t cover everything…
There are many expenses outside of just her medical treatment that accompany a diagnosis such as this. Surgery and chemo will take her out of work for many months, she will need surgical aftercare and physical therapy to aid in her recovery, as well as extended downtime to allow her body to rest and heal.
As her family and friends, we can help to alleviate some of the financial burden that will be caused by this loss of income. We can aid her in affording daily expenses such as bills, rent, and food- we can help to cover the costs of reconstructive surgery after she has healed from her mastectomy- and we can give our financial support to medically preserve her fertility before undergoing chemo so that one day, she can realize her dream of being a Mom.
Please give to whatever level that you are able. Even $5 will cover a pint of ice cream or a post-chemo coffee! Quite literally, any amount helps. If you cannot donate at this time, please share this page with your friends and loved ones- along with the love that Harley gives to us all.
I truly believe that with our efforts combined, we can help our girl face this journey head-on, unladen with doubt, worry, or fear that she will come out on top.
With endless love and gratitude,
Team Harley
