Madeline Claire Farr, 28, of Harlem, GA, passed away on February 12, 2026.
Maddy was a beautiful, kind soul. She loved and felt things very deeply. She wanted everyone to be treated with fairness, kindness, and empathy. She was a great artist and was unapologetically creative.
As a high school student, Maddy was a devoted member of the Harlem High School band where she developed an intense desire for competitive marching band. Through her participation in drum and bugle corps competition, known as Marching Music's Major League™, she single-handedly changed the culture of the Harlem Bulldogs Marching Band from mildly competitive to that of a championship-winning band!
To honor Maddy’s life, her father and former band director have established the Maddy Farr DCI Memorial Scholarship to promote the marching musical arts of Drum Corps International competition within the membership of the Harlem High School Bulldog Marching Band by providing annual scholarship funding to be used to offset related expenses of drum and bugle corps participation, which can often exceed $5,000 per participant. Maddy’s father and former band director have pledged the first $1,000 each year with hopes that further donations will be made to memorialize her legacy as a young marching musical artist.
Please consider making a donation. All proceeds will be used to provide scholarship funding to deserving Harlem High School Marching Band students who participate in drum and bugle corps groups each year; it would be great to be able to provide multiple scholarships with enough donations. Thank you for so much your contribution, no matter how large or small.
