Hey guys! Thanks for taking the time to check out our story. I am Micah Harris and my husband is Michael Harris. We are the owner’s of Happily Ever Acres based in South, Ga. Our aim is in our name and our goal is to simply help animals, specifically farm animals, transition from a bad situation to their Happily Ever After. Or, in their case, their permanent home whether it’s here with us on our “Acres” or elsewhere. We started out a few years ago taking the “misfits” and giving them a second chance at life while funding our own efforts of rehabilitation with petting-zoo profits. We all know that only went so far. While the need always does extended well past what was coming in. In our most recent endeavor pure fate brought us to this sweet gelding. He’s estimated at 20 years old and needs out of his current situation asap. My husband and I are working our hardest to get temporary shelter and fencing up tomorrow to get him to our home by Sunday. We need your help establishing a veterinary starting point for him while we provide all the essentials to kick start his rehabilitation.
Quick backstory: I have had horses all my life starting when I was just 6 years old. But, obtained my “heart horse” just out of college. She traveled with me in all areas of life…. Bad boyfriends, moving locations, from getting engaged, to marriage, to carrying my twins on her back when it came time to share her… tragically we lost her within minutes of moving her to our forever home to an aortic aneurysm. I swore off big horses after this… I couldn’t take the heartache of that ever again. Then on the 3 year anniversary of her death this fella landed in our life. Since we met him we haven’t stopped longing to have him home. Thanks again for every donation or share. It’s all deeply appreciated.
