Support Hannah's Vaginoplasty Recovery

Hi everyone, I’m Hannah Weinstein. I am a 25 year old computer science student, and a transgender woman. After over three years of medical transition, I’m finally preparing for a surgery I’ve dreamed of for decades: vaginoplasty. This is a truly life saving procedure for me. After a lengthy process of research and consulting with surgeons, I have finally secured a date for my surgery: December 5th, 2025.

While my insurance covers the surgery itself (thankfully!), I need support for the recovery phase. My medical team at NYU Langone Health, led by the incredible Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner and Dr. Lee Zhao, requires me to stay within an hour of the hospital for at least two weeks after my 5 day hospital stay to ensure safe healing. Hotels or short-term housing in NYC during this period will cost $5,000. Additionally, I’ll need three months off work and must cover recovery supplies (medications, pads and period underwear, medical grade lube, etc.)
