Hi everyone,

My name is Hannah Davis, my family and I live in Danville PA. I recently had thyroid surgery after doctors found a tumor with a high chance of being thyroid cancer. The surgery went well, and I’m recovering slowly while waiting on final results — but the timing has been really hard financially.

Because of the government shutdown, I’ve been furloughed with no paycheck, and now there is talk that we might not get our back pay. As a federal government employee shutdowns are always hard but this one is especially hard. I already have over $2,400 in medical bills due, with more on the way from surgery and follow-up care.

My husband, Scott, has been incredibly supportive, but with Cici (5) and Toby (3), it’s a lot for us to juggle right now. I’m trying to focus on healing and staying strong for my family, but the financial stress is certainly a lot.
