# Help Save Hannah: ICU Battle, Organ Failure, and Hope for Transplant
On December 25, our lives changed in an instant.
Hannah was 34 weeks pregnant when she was suddenly hospitalized with rapidly worsening liver failure. Within days, she was life-flighted multiple times, underwent an emergency C-section to save her life, and was transferred to Salt Lake City where she remains in the ICU today.
Since then, Hannah has been fighting for her life every single day.
She has endured:
* Acute liver failure
* Complete kidney failure requiring ongoing dialysis
* HSV encephalitis (a severe viral brain infection)
* Septic shock and multiple life-threatening infections
* Weeks on a ventilator, now through a tracheostomy
* Multiple blood transfusions and complications affecting nearly every organ system
There have been moments where we were told to prepare for the worst. And yet — we have also witnessed miracles.
Hannah has opened her eyes. She recognizes us. She is fighting.
But the road ahead is still incredibly difficult.

## Where Things Stand Today (March 2026)
Hannah remains critically ill in the ICU.
She is now:
* Breathing mostly on her own through a tracheostomy
* Awake and able to interact, though unable to speak
* Extremely weak after months of critical illness — she cannot sit up, move her legs, or reposition herself
She is currently battling:
* A resistant bloodstream infection (VRE)
* Ongoing pneumonia
* The final stages of clearing a severe viral infection
---
## The Hard Reality
Hannah now needs a liver transplant — and possibly a kidney transplant — to survive.
However, before she can even be placed on the transplant list, she must:
1. **Regain enough physical strength** to survive the surgery
2. **Be completely infection-free**
3. **Fully clear the virus from her body**
4. Show that her liver cannot recover on its own
Her transplant will be extremely high-risk. Every day is a race against time — to strengthen her body while fighting off infections that threaten her life.

## How You Can Help
Hannah’s fight is far from over.
The financial burden of this journey is overwhelming:
* Prolonged ICU stay
* Multiple life flights
* Dialysis and specialized treatments
* Future transplant surgery and recovery
* Months (or longer) of rehabilitation
Your support will go toward:
* Medical expenses not covered by insurance
* Travel and lodging for family
* Rehabilitation and long-term recovery care
* Daily living expenses during this prolonged crisis

## A Message From Our Family
We have felt every single prayer, message, and act of kindness. You have carried us through the darkest moments.
We are believing for:
* Complete healing
* Cleared infections
* Strength for her body
* Wisdom for her medical team
* And peace through every step
If you are able to give, share, or pray — it all matters more than we can express.
Hannah is still here. She is still fighting.
And we are not giving up.
Thank you for standing with us. ❤️
