Growing up with Hannah as my big sister I have seen her face and overcome many obstacles. She is someone who will always stand up for and support others. Hannah’s kindness has touched lives across every community she has joined. Whether you know her through FIRST Robotics, marching band, NASA, Kappa Kappa Psi, her time at University of Toledo, or her love for Broadway and NYC, you know her passion and light shines bright in the face of adversity.

Hannah had been experiencing odd symptoms during the fall leading to multiple doctor’s appointments and ER visits culminating in a surgery in December. Through the surgery, she was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma (uterine cancer). Through additional imaging it does not appear the cancer has spread, but with the high rate of recurrence, Hannah will need a full hysterectomy as soon as possible, a major surgery requiring weeks of downtime. Additional testing following the hysterectomy will tell us what treatment is needed following.

Although this diagnosis is unexpected and challenging, Hannah has faced it head on with the courage and hope she’s always shown others. Her focus is on healing and continuing to lift up those around her, even as she prepares for her surgery and the weeks-long recovery to come.

Hannah is fortunate to have good medical insurance, but remains with over $7,000 of out of pocket expenses. I have set the total fundraising goal a little higher at to help with additional expenses like travel for surgery, vital perscriptions and supplements to help her body adjust to organ removal, and additional care and comfort items. True to her nature, Hannah is reluctant to ask for help, but this is a time when she needs her support network more than ever as these costs are great and unexpected. Your support means Hannah can focus on getting well and returning to the communities she loves. To recover from the surgery she will need to take time off work at reduced pay and the towering costs have caused fear and uncertainty for Hannah. This is a way that we can provide her support and allow her to breathe easier and focus on healing.

Hannah has spent her life uplifting others and now we have a chance to uplift her.
