Hi there!

As many of you may have heard by now, our dear Hannah has had one whirlwind of a week. A few nights ago, she was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night after demonstrating symptoms of a stroke. As it turns out, what was thought to be a stroke was actually a seizure, triggered by increased pressure on her brain, caused by a significantly large tumor.

Hannah was rushed from Augusta to Portland, where her loving children, husband, and family gathered. They waited anxiously while a team of skilled doctors and nurses worked to remove the tumor and patch our wonderful girl back up again.

While the surgery seems to have been a success, Hannah has already faced a few setbacks in her recovery, and still has a long road ahead. She is working hard to rebuild her language and communication skills and regain independence in caring for herself and others. Due to ongoing seizure activity, it is unlikely that she will be able to drive for some time, which adds to the daily challenges she faces.

Hannah will not be able to return to work for some time (which is very stressful for someone as hardworking as her, financial burden aside). Meanwhile, her incredible husband Troy will surely be missing his share of work hours while trying to support Hannah with her medical needs, appointments, etc. It's so difficult that this comes at a time when their family is also being faced with tons of medical bills (and just in time for all the "back-to-school" expenses for their two high-schoolers).

Let's come together to help lessen their financial burden, so that Hannah can focus her energy on healing and being there for her family.
